Practice Times

Postby Sandlot Gang on Mon Mar 08, 2010 9:20 pm

To All Coaches! I know we are all limited on practice times with the shortage of fields and practice areas for all our teams. But please be mindful of the teams following your scheduled practice time by ending your practice on time. On 2 occasions so far our team has been cheated out of 10-15 minutes each time b/c teams would not finish up their practice on time. I have also heard of other teams having to wait while the team ahead of them finishes up.

Thanks!
Jason

if this happens to any of you, try and find me or anyone else on the parkboard so we make note of it. if you cost a team 10 or 15 minutes of their practice time you will make it up to them next time by giving that team your whole practice time.

Im pretty sure its the same one's causing all of the problems. You know...Charlie Reeves, Grover Hendrix, and Jimmy Wilson.

You're going to hurt Cecil's feelings for leaving him out . With Reeves, Wilson, Brown and Sawyer, I don't think we are the ones causing the trouble "YET!" I agree with Sheree, it's that Hughes/Creel combonation causing all the problems. But who can battle that team with the commisioner and the equipment manager on it??? Talk about fringe benefits!!!!
:o :o :o I didn't mean to say that out loud. I hope noone heard me.
Seriously though, with our practices only one hour and ten minutes a night, I am going to use every minute, but not jeopardize another team by taking some of thier time. If I am supposed to be off the field at 6:40 , that's when I get off the field. All other coaches should abide dy the rules as well. Or like Jeremy said, be punished for thier actions. Yes it is hard for us all to get practice time in, enough to be competitve outside the park anyway, but when time changes it will be alot easier for all of us to get more time doing something practice related.

I think its also a problem the other way around. If your practice start time is 7:40 then you should not be in the outfield at 7:30 while the team before you is still practicing. Especially when you are talking about 12 yr old boys out in right field throwing a ball, when I have a 7 yr old right fielder out there. I always try to end my practices just a couple minutes before or right on time. We clean up our mess and get completely off the field so the next team can practice....but please don't try to push yourself on the field in an attempt to try and make us leave early, cause it ain't happening when field time is at a premium.

Tonight the dugout was in a horrible mess when the previous team left too. I did clean up their cups, gatorade and water bottles, because I did not want our team blamed for it. if we cannot keep our own dugouts clean, how do we expect anyone to keep the rest of the park clean?

Sorry for my rant it's just been one of those days lol.

oh how i love softball.....hmmm brandi sounds like she has been drinking the same water as me!!!...i know the prac. times are ruff..we all need to do our part both ways. i will be at the fields and don't want to look out the concession stand window and see no trouble.. :o :o and i don't even want to get on the subject of people leaving a mess at their own park   we have alot of good coaches this year and we all need to respect each other when it is time for everyones prac. time..i hope i do not have to address this issue but if it does become a problem boys or girls i will be on the same page with jeremy..we are all wildcats and are not the enemy....thanks terri...

Not just the game but life values as well. They all deserve the same time. Not any particular team more than another.

I second that!!!
