Traditions Park, our new facility, is almost finished. Here in the final days of this project, we need your help to complete construction. We are looking to raise $50,000 in the next 30 days to help us achieve our goal of opening the park this summer. We appreciate any donation that you can make, no matter the amount.
I have attached the link to a GoFundMe page that we have setup, however please know that GoFundMe takes 7.9% of your donation as their fee. Because of that, to be sure that your donation has the maximum amount of effect it can have, I recommend that you just send a check made out to West Blount Park directly to us at PO Box 34, Hayden, AL 35079 or you can contact me, Shea Layton at 205-543-0554. Please write ‘Traditions Park Donation’ to the memo line. Your donation will be to a 501(c)(3) which means that your donation is also tax deductible! (tax receipt will be provided)
We have sponsorship levels for donations of $100 and above that will be recognized permanently at the new park, so if you are interested in making a donation of $100 or more, please contact Shea Layton at 205-543-0554
The West Blount Park board is excited about the opportunities that this new park will provide for the kids in Hayden and we appreciate any help you can provide.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
There has been a lot of questions, rumors, and misinformation going around surrounded the new park and I just wanted to send everyone a message to clear everything up.
To begin, Traditions Bank has been an integral part of the construction of this new park since the beginning. If they were not involved, the park would not be where it is today. They have donated time and money to this project and we are extremely grateful for everything they have done for us and for the kids and families in this community. The next time you are in the bank, please let them know how much you appreciate them and if you don’t bank with them, please consider doing so. They are investing in our community and we should invest in them.
As for the new park, the goal was to play this season at the new park. If any of you have ever been involved with a project of this magnitude, you know that it presents unforeseen challenges along the way that push the completion date back further and further. Along with that, because we are funding the construction with donations, there are times when the money runs out and we have to wait until more donations come in before construction can resume. Because of this, we moved the possible opening date to park day this year, and then moved back again to May 20. However, the park is not ready yet to start hosting events.
Construction is continuing almost daily and we are working hard to open the new park as soon as it is possible. However, we want to make sure that everything is complete and we want to provide you with the best ‘first impression’ of our new home as we can.
All of that being said, we are hoping to open the new park this summer. Right now, estimates are that we will open sometime in July 2017. Once we know that everything is ready, we will plan a opening day event that will likely include inflatables for the kids and baseball/softball games for the kids. Please follow the West Blount Park page on Facebook to keep up with the latest information on everything going on at the park.
We want everyone to know that we are working hard to finish this project strong and provide the best place possible for your kids to play for years to come. If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at email@example.com
